Sky Solutions developed a comprehensive approach to fulfill DMA’s requirements, using Human-Centered Design (HCD), agile delivery, DevSecOps, and modern product management practices. Leveraging AEM’s capabilities and Sky’s project management expertise, the project focused on platform innovation and end-user experience. As an Adobe Certified Reseller with Government Specialization, Sky supported DMA in procuring, configuring, and pilot testing AEM.
Using a SAFe agile approach and tools such as Jira, we ensured visibility, transparency, and efficient tracking of deliverables. The successful migration and modernization of selected websites showcased Sky’s expertise in development, maintenance, and security operations, aligned with industry best practices. We also supported the DoD in acquiring AEM licenses for the DMA WEB NextGen Pilot, streamlining the acquisition of necessary cloud-based licenses. Sky’s application development framework (Sky Factory), program management plan, and communication strategy helped overcome DMA’s challenges and successfully implement AEM.
We supported Product Management by defining the MVP, product backlog, prioritization, and roadmap. Participating in Program Increment (PI) events, we created epics, features, user stories, dependencies, and risks from the product backlog, managing them to completion using Jira. We held demo sessions to elicit feedback, fostering collaboration and transparency. Throughout the execution, we adhered to HCD and ADA guidelines, conducting user research and developing personas, empathy maps, and journey maps to understand end-users’ needs. Our UI/UX architects performed qualitative and quantitative research, ideated prototypes, tested solutions, and documented users’ goals and behaviors. We also created a comprehensive UI/UX guidelines document for design, layout, style, and formatting.
We complied with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Rehabilitation Act, Section 508, and the IDEA Act. Sky ensured a systematic handover of responsibilities to DMA’s internal teams. Our Transition-out approach minimized impact and risk during the transfer of systems and services, maintaining continuity of operations and program knowledge.
